Derren Brown was well represented by the clock displayed on stage. He was one with the clock. Derren was selling his best-guarded secret miracle to the people which were involved. A good view for a discounted - restricted view ticket. I was on the far left side. Row H, Seat 29. On my birthday. Sad memory, shortly after I would find out that Alan Rickman went, so I'd be sobbing in the restaurant ajar from the venue... Just hours ago... I'd be happily entertained at the Palace. Seats are comfortable if you don't take your general backpack into the row you sit with you. I couldn't have asked for more legroom being 1.55m (bit small to see everything from that row and angle but overall a good view if you have great eyes or glasses that correct your sight). And being used to be travelling in long distance coaches and/or short distance plane flights. Show rating: a tricky one: I'm sure it wasn't his "BEST" show ever, because the show partly dealt with topics Derren had been touching in the past. I was over-whelmed by "Infamous". Derren himself is an excellent entertainer... I liked "Infamous" a bit better. Maybe it's because everything about seeing Derren live felt so new and exciting. After having stumbled over Derren's "The Heist", accidentally by trying to roughly understand what NLP is all about... I got hooked all to soon to everything else I could find. So, it's a tricky question. It was all well-presented. I can't find my ticket now, so I am not adding a picture but I know the seat I was in because I booked it all at the venue and have been looking at the ticket, lately. Not giving best marks for his live show would break my heart... So... *sigh* Awww, Derren, you win again! "Restricted view tickets" are best sold by walking into the venue in question and if you directly ask for them... I would say that "restricted view tickets" are sometimes better than sitting in the furthest back up, so... If you need some on a budget, anyway, go for it before they are gone.
After all these basic mentalism illusions are done, Derren will finish the warm up session and now delve into the real show. The real show is all about the Faith healing session where Derren gets to heal some members of the audience. The most famous healing to ever happen in his show was the healing of a woman who was partially blind. After the apparent miracle, the woman looked like she had really acquired back her sight.
derren brown: miracle
Setups are too long, pay offs almost non-existent. Brown insists there are no stooges in the audience, which is probably the best trick he ever pulled. A 3rd rate magic show wrapped in a 2nd rate charlatan's yarn about faith which all leads up to... some sappy Hollywood ending about the "miracle of our individuality"?
Science and religion are direct competitors over all the great questions about the origin of the universe, the question of what it contains, the question whether it has an exogenous purpose, and the question of how it functions. Everything from the various creation myths of various religions to the logical coherence of the idea of miracles is comprehended here and the most rudimentary scientific understanding shows that belief in supernatural agencies and events is nonsense. A simple test demonstrates this: ask yourself what grounds we have for believing that there are fairies at the bottom of the garden; consider what tests might be supposed to test the hypothesis that such things exist; ask yourself how reasonable it would be to organise your life on the supposition that such fairies exist. The evidential basis of belief in gods and other supernatural forces is no different from this. 2ff7e9595c
